Ian Somerhalder and The Vampire Diaries
October 23rd, 2009 § Leave a Comment
So I recently got on the Vampire Diaries bandwagon and I was really surprised at how good the story is. The vampires are dark and sexy as expected, but what reeled me in was Ian Somerhalder’s character, Damon Salvatore. He’s such a meanie but there’s a playful vibe to it. It’s not that he really sets out to be bad, I think he just comes out bad because he does what he wants and doesn’t care what everyone says or feels. You want to slap him then kiss him . Or have him bite you instead, if you’re into that kind of thing. :p
Another thing I am happy to report is that Ian’s coming back for the final season of LOST! For those who don’t know, Ian played Boone on the first season of Lost. He died too soon, sadly. I loved watching him coz he’s so easy on the eyes!( he’s even hotter in person! I know coz I’ve seen him at the Comic Con this year!) *hahaha* I am really excited to see him reprise the role!
Ian confirms it in the interview below:
And here’s a fun interview with Ian , which I read on Popwatch EW. That’s where I got the “slap him then kiss him” bit–it’s really accurate, no?
On the other hand, I can’t help but think that Paul Wesley, who portrays Stefan Salvatore, reminds me of how Rob Pattinson acts as Edward Cullen. It’s not exactly the same, but it’s there, and it irritates me. No other person can be Edward ever again. hahaha!

Finally, here’s the much talked about Philippine tv ad of the Korean cutie Kim Bum:
And here’s a little “behind the scenes” video:
He looks like he’s still in his Boys Before Flowers character. LOL! nevertheless, he’s still so cute and I want to pinch those cheeks. He’s like a little boy with a secret when he smiles.
He’s like a ‘trophy boyfriend’ here or a beautiful fixture. He looks good but don’t let him open his mouth! Too bad he can’t speak English!
No Doubt Performs on The Today Show

Gwen Stefani, Tony Kanal, Adrian Young and Tom Dumont are back on stage and performed “Spiderwebs”, ” It’s my Life” and “Don’t Speak” for a New York audience.
The wait is over: No Doubt officially ended a nearly five-year concert hiatus on Friday (May 1), taking the stage on the “Today” show for a three-song set that showed they haven’t missed a beat.
Though the skies over New York’s Rockefeller Center were overcast, ND were sunny enough to cut through the dark clouds, beaming, rocking and swaying — and sounding great — much to the delight of the squealing audience, some of whom had been waiting since 2 a.m. to catch the return of the Orange County legends.
ND is going on a summer tour with PARAMORE this year! And I’m going to watch them live in JULY! YIPEE! I can’t wait!
MTV has the whole article.
Or you can watch the short vid.

The Legend of the Seeker (TV show)

I am a fan of Terry Goodkind’s fantasy series called The Sword of Truth so I thought I’d check out the TV series. So far, I’ve watched episodes 1-3 and all I can say is that I’m underwhelmed.
The books follow the 3 main characters: Richard (Cypher) Rahl, Zeddicus Zu’l Zorander and Kahlan Amnell. They band together to defeat the evil ruler Darken Rahl and stop him from using magic in order to obtain the power over life and death.
The whole Pilot episode didn’t feel FRESH or that much exciting. Some of the still scenes/close ups were too much like they were posing for a camera. I guess they were going for dramatic…but it didn’t work for me. Some scenes were dragging. Story wise, it stayed true to the book (Wizard’s First Rule)
As for the actors…I believe there is potential for Australian Craig Horner , who plays the title role as the Seeker. His character is another one of those “reluctant heroes”. He’s good-looking enough to maintain general female interest and seems athletic enough to be believable as a fighter.
Veteran actor Bruce Spence plays Wizard of the First Order, Zedd. He really looks strange, so he’s got that part down. His character is like Gandalf– he goes away for a while then he comes back unexpectedly to save the day. *lol* He’s no stranger to the genre, since he was the Mouth of Sauron for LOTR.
As for the American theater ,film and tv actress Bridget Regan who plays Confessor Kahlan–well, she isn’t at all what I had in mind. I kind of thought of Kahlan as another Arwen or Eowyn from The Lord of the Rings. These two, for me are the epitome of strong women in love. I don’t see in her the delicate balance of woman-waiting-for-love and Xena-warrior-princess. Bridget plays up the strength of the character very well, but I don’t see her being the romantic leading lady at all.
Sparks don’t fly for Richard and Kahlan in the first three episodes so I wonder how they are going to build that up in the future. Theirs is a very tense, love-hate courtship. teehee. The very kind that I enjoy.
For the unfamiliar, Confessors cannot love in a traditional sense, because their power causes them to kill their lover. And (SPOILER!) Richard is the only male strong enough to withstand the deadly power. I’ve spent hours reading the books and lingering on the love story , so who can blame me for wanting THAT tense attraction from the visual presentation as well? OR maybe I’m just getting too far ahead? *lol* OR maybe I just want this to be like a LOTR movie so I expect too much?
Legend of the Seeker is produced by ABC, with sci-fi-fantasy-horror guy Sam Raimi as one of the executive producers.
I just watched ” The Bad Mother’s Handbook”…

Which stars our favorite actor Robert Pattinson. Well, actually he just a small part in it , but still, he was quite good if I do say so myself!
based on the bestselling novel by Kate Long, this made for tv movie is about 3 generations of women, who finally connect with each other through motherhood. It shows how “mothering” isn’t the same for everyone, but loving is.
I didn’t expect to find the movie so touching and funny at the same time! I would definitely recommend this movie for a mother-daughter bonding session. Or for a girl bonding session for that matter. hehe.
I thought Rob was great as the awkward, nerdy but sweet Daniel Gale . He’s got a bad haircut, bad posture and even worse taste in clothes. But he’s really kind and thoughtful and a true friend. And when you see what kind of house he lives in and what kind of parents he has, you’d probably forgive him for the way he is! LOL! He’s completely different than everything I think he should be, given his circumstances.
Thumbs up!!
“Skins” Season 3 Preview

I’ve recently become a fan of the British TV show called Skins. It’s like Gossip girl but with a bigger shock factor! I love it!
( although if I were a parent, I wouldn’t let my child watch this. Cause I wouldn’t want him or her to get any ideas! LOL!)
Effy is my favorite character on the show. She’s beautiful! In the first season she only spoke twice, I think. But in the succeeding seasons, she gets more screen time and more dialogues!
Too bad they keep replacing the cast. I’ve only finished Season 1, but I’ve read enough to know about what happens in 2. And now there’s season 3… If you’re curious and you wanna see it for yourself, you can watch the video here.
Rob And Rachelle Live@Much interview

I kinda like seeing Robert And Rachelle together. They always look like they’re having fun! And their names both start with “R”! haha! Perfect!:-p
When rob is with Kristen , it’s like they both look tortured and depressed for some reason. I think Rachelle has a better influence on him! LOL! And I love her wild curly hair. I love his hair too! haha!
Watch this interview! It’s kinda old, but it’s the first time I’ve seen it! He says he’s a “dirty boy”! LOL! I love it! And I wanna smell him too! gaaahhh!
