Taeyang Needs Sandara Park
July 12th, 2010 § Leave a Comment
After her short stint in Philippine television, Sandara Park went back to her native Korea and joined a pop group called 2NE1. And somehow she keeps getting cast as the “IT” girl in music videos! First she was in the Cass Beer CF with Lee Min ho and even got kissed by him, then now she’s in Taeyang’s music video “I need a girl” .Kudos Sandy! Or Dara, as she’s now called.
Goo Hye Sun debuts her first album
September 12th, 2009 § 5 Comments
Listen to this song by Boys Before Flowers star Goo Hye Sun :
Didn’t she launch a book with her own artwork recently? She’s trying to be an artist and now a singer? She isn’t much of a singer in my opinion. This song puts me right to sleep. hehehe.
Why does she get these gigs anyhow??
PS: a reader corrected me–Hye Sun isn’t the one singing afterall.

Carly Smithson joins The Fallen

Oh wow.
Remember the band Evanescence? The Christian band turned pop-goth group? Amy Lee (the former vocalist)is out of the picture. So the guys— guitarists Ben Moody and John LeCompt and drummer Rocky Gray have a new group called The Fallen, and Carly Smithson from American Idol is the new vocalist !

I kinda liked Amy Lee, but apparently, the guys didn’t like the fact that she was more popular than the rest of them. Kinda reminds me of what happened to No Doubt, when the guys got jealous coz Gwen got all the attention. They addressed this issue in their music video for “Don’t Speak”. Watch closely when it gets to 2:45.
I hope it doesn’t happen with Paramore!!

No Doubt Performs on The Today Show

Gwen Stefani, Tony Kanal, Adrian Young and Tom Dumont are back on stage and performed “Spiderwebs”, ” It’s my Life” and “Don’t Speak” for a New York audience.
The wait is over: No Doubt officially ended a nearly five-year concert hiatus on Friday (May 1), taking the stage on the “Today” show for a three-song set that showed they haven’t missed a beat.
Though the skies over New York’s Rockefeller Center were overcast, ND were sunny enough to cut through the dark clouds, beaming, rocking and swaying — and sounding great — much to the delight of the squealing audience, some of whom had been waiting since 2 a.m. to catch the return of the Orange County legends.
ND is going on a summer tour with PARAMORE this year! And I’m going to watch them live in JULY! YIPEE! I can’t wait!
MTV has the whole article.
Or you can watch the short vid.

A second look at A Fine Frenzy
February 8th, 2009 § Leave a Comment
In the spirit of lameness, I just found out today that A Fine Frenzy is made up of only one person–Alison Sudol. She kinda reminds me of those other (relatively new) female singer-songwriters that I like such as Sara Bareilles, Tristan Prettyman and Ingrid Michaelson.
Alison’s got vibrant red hair like Haley Williams.hehehe. I like her. ;p
One Cell in the Sea is a great album.Very mellow tunes with “dreamily evocative wordplay” (according to the write up on iTunes. :p).
My boyfriend “introduced” me to A Fine Frenzy months and months ago by letting me listen to one of her songs (Almost Lover).
Here’s Ashes and Wine on youtube. It’s a great break-up song. lol.
